Exploration

DeepScan

Even though Okanagan Lake has been studied quite extensively within the past century, the lake still remains largely unexplored. Okanagan Lake contains numerous deep-water zones, some of which include large plains, canyons, depressions and cliffs. Very little is known about the bottom of Okanagan Lake, which is why the Institute for Underwater Research places great emphasis on the general exploration of this large and deep lake. Every year, we perform many expeditions dedicated to the exploration of never-seen-before underwater territories.

Many of our deep-water surveys have uncovered new information regarding the geology of Okanagan Lake.
